The Winds’ 2014-15 season concludes with a program bringing together Celtic folk and classical music. Joining the ensemble is guitarist and composer John Marcinizyn, who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. He performs frequently as a soloist with the Ferla-Marcinizyn Guitar Duo, mezzo-soprano Daphne Alderson, the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh, and the Pittsburgh Playhouse Professional Company Ensemble. He is an Artist Lecturer in Guitar at Carnegie Mellon’s School of Music, teaches guitar and composition at Seton Hill University, and leads the music portion of the class ‘The Arts and Human Experience’ at Duquesne University. Administratively, Marcinizyn serves on the Advisory Board for the Guitar Society of Fine Art.
